Get Tattooed

Getting tattooed is a personal experience, so we’re honoured that you are considering us. If you’d like to get started, here’s how it works:

  • Email us or come into the shop to discuss your tattoo. At your consultation bring your ideas, and we'll guide you on how to make it a tattoo you'll love.

  • Once you’ve decided what you want, we will give you a quote so you can book the date for your tattoo and pay your deposit.

  • Whether it’s your tenth tattoo or you’re popping your tattoo cherry, here are some tips that will help you to prepare for your appointment:

    1. Get a good nights sleep. You need to be rested to ensure you are in tune with your body, this also helps your artist work smoothly.

    2. Make sure you are hydrated. Drink plenty of water least 24 hours before your appointment.

    3. Shave. If the area you will be getting tattooed has hair on it, make sure the area is clean shaven. This will help prepare your skin for your tattoo session and it makes it a lot easier for your artist to work on the area.

    4. Please don’t moisturise your skin your skin on the day of your tattoo. This could interfere with the needle, tattoo machine or ink, and your skin.

  • Bring entertainment. We dont want you to be bored, so music, films, Netflix or any activity that doesn’t require you to move is welcome.

Bring snacks. You need to eat for energy especially if you are booked for a long session.

Wear comfortable clothing. Loose cool clothes will ensure you do not get too hot or restricted whilst sitting for periods of time.

  • Your artist will give you the lowdown on how to care for your new tattoo, but here are the basic do’s and don’ts.

    First Day/Night

Keep the bandage on for a minimum of 6 hours, ideally 24 hours. We recommend keeping it on overnight provided the dressing feels comfortable and secure.

Fresh tattoos sometimes “weep” during the first couple of days, meaning that plasma and ink form a thin moist coating on the skin. This can be dabbed with a clean paper towel. Press the paper towel to the skin and remove. Do not wipe the tattoo or be rough with it.

Taking off the Bandage and Cleaning Your Tattoo:

Before you start, make sure your hands are clean and you have unscented antibacterial soap ready. Avoid soap with fragrance, or scrubs.

Carefully remove the bandage and tape. If you feel the bandage sticking to the tattoo, wet it with lukewarm water and gently slide it off.

Make a lather in your hands with soap and warm water. NO washcloths, bath towels, or sponges on a fresh tattoo and gently clean the tattoo using a circular motion until all ointment and plasma are removed.

Rinse the tattoo gently until the skin is clean.

Pat dry with a clean towel or paper towel then allow to fully air dry for a minimum of 10 minutes. DO NOT RUB.

Once the tattoo is dry, apply a very small amount of unscented moisturiser.

Clean your tattoo this way once a day in the shower for the first 2-3 days.

Your tattoo should be completely healed within 2-4 weeks.

After the first few days, your tattoo may become itchy or begin to form flaky scabs. They will fall off on their own, so do not pick or scratch your tattoo. Doing so can cause some of the pigment to disappear, and your tattoo may not heal properly.

Showering is fine, however, please DO NOT soak your tattoo for at least 2 weeks. This means no swimming, baths or submerging your tattoo in water for long periods of time.

Avoid direct sunlight on your tattoo for at least 2 weeks and your tattoo is completely healed. After that, we advise putting on a sunblock (minimum SPF 50) on your tattoo whenever you find yourself in direct sunlight for the rest of your life. The sun will undoubtedly cause damage and compromise the longevity of your tattoo.
